Movies about movie making are always tricky. They become very meta and sometimes that's a really bad thing. This movie isn't by any stretch the worst one of the lot, but it does not quite hold up entirely. I enjoyed watching it, but the real antagonists simply don't get enough of a build-up to be actually scary, and they are resolved almost entirely off-screen, which robs the characters in the movie of their agency. Even their suffering and death means less because we don't know what happens to them truly. It's still a fun watch, even though it doesn't stick to the landing.
