Breendonk - Season 1

Following a failed act of resistance, Rik and his father Leon are taken to Breendonk. As Rik is confronted with the harsh reality of the camp, Elisabeth refuses to give up on him. Flemish SS officer Vaes tries to strengthen his position.

Rik learns the unwritten rules of Breendonk and discovers how far prisoners must go to survive. Elisabeth searches for news of Rik. Vaes enjoys his growing influence, but the war takes its toll on his private life.

New alliances emerge inside and outside Breendonk. As Rik tries to hold his ground in the camp, Elisabeth receives unexpected help. Vaes is confronted with choices that put the world he has carefully built under pressure.

The past lets no one go. As Rik and Leon discover more and more about each other, tensions surrounding Vaes grow. Elisabeth is forced to make difficult choices, and the consequences of earlier decisions become increasingly apparent.

The war seems to be taking a new turn, and no one is left untouched. Relationships come under strain, loyalties are tested, and old convictions begin to waver. For Rik, Elisabeth and Vaes, the consequences of their choices become increasingly apparent.
