"CIA" offers up decent actors in a bland action spy series. The wholly forgettable, formlaic first episode, to me at least, made little coherent sense, accompanied by a predictable dash of "woke" codswallop. Acting is solid, but it's mired in a series that is, so far, pretty uninspiring. In summary, a basic action spy drama, with the usual pro US rules the world narrative.
Episode 1
When a known cartel fixer arrives in NYC, the team tracks him down and discovers the body of a DEA agent. After it becomes clear the case is not what it seems, the team must work quickly to prevent additional murders. Meanwhile, Bill makes a shocking discovery when he returns to work after the death of his father, and the team enlists the help of Special Agent Stuart Scola.
Episode 2
After a Russian spy is poisoned by his own comrades, he offers to help the team neutralize a threat against U.S. assets in Russia in exchange for the dying spy's final wish: revenge.
Episode 3
In order to stop a terrorist cell carrying out a chemical bombing at an unknown location in the city, the team joins forces with an old school code breaker who is suffering from agoraphobia. Together they decipher a seemingly unbreakable cipher. Meanwhile, Colin wrestles with Toni's return to the field, and Bill braces for Katie's response to his recent admission.

When a prominent investor begins selling highly sensitive information to Korean agents, the team must go deep undercover at a high-end gala event to prevent a deadly invasion. Meanwhile, Bill struggles with troubling discoveries of his father's past.
Episode 5
When an extremely powerful and dangerous AI model is stolen by an employee, Colin and Bill look to track her down before she can sell it to the highest bidder; Bill makes new revelations about his father.
