Kevin McCloud's Classic Car Road Trips - Miniseries

In this first episode, Kevin explores the French Riviera in a classic 1960s Citroen DS convertible. Kevin's journey takes him from Cannes via a wandering route to Monaco. First stop is an internationally renowned design school near Nice. What will the designers of tomorrow think of a car built 40 years before they were born?

Kevin gets the behind the wheel of one of his dream cars, a classic 1950s Maserati 3500GT, to explore the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy - famous for its food, scenery and architecture. Kevin gains a unique insight into the history of the legendary car maker, and also learns how parmesan is made, visits a secure warehouse where thousands of wheels of parmesan are stored, and has lunch at the oldest deli in the world in in Modena.

Kevin explores Northern Ireland's stunning coastal route in a DeLorean DMC12, the gullwing car made famous by the film Back to the Future, and discovers that the excitement this car generates outweighs the controversy surrounding its creator. In Belfast, the car's owner David shows Kevin the original DeLorean test track before handing him the keys.
