Vagabond - Volume 6

After his defeat at Hōzōin, Musashi struggles to recover from a terrifying encounter. Surviving the fight leaves him with questions that strength alone cannot answer.

Away from the temple's confrontations, Musashi is forced to slow down and reflect. His damaged confidence makes the prospect of returning to battle more complicated than before.

Musashi remains haunted by his fear of Inshun as he considers what went wrong. An unexpected opportunity to learn offers the possibility of a different way forward.

Musashi's path turns toward training rather than immediate revenge. The journey ahead challenges his patience, discipline, and understanding of the sword.

Guided by a more experienced swordsman, Musashi begins to reconsider how he sees his opponents and his surroundings. Perception and composure become essential parts of his training.

Elsewhere, Matahachi tries to escape the shame of his past and give his life a new direction. His longing for status leaves him vulnerable to another misguided decision.

Matahachi reaches Osaka hoping to find opportunity and recognition. In an unfamiliar city, the temptation to reinvent himself grows increasingly powerful.

Matahachi's insecurity and desperation threaten to pull him further from the person he once hoped to become. An encounter tests how far he is willing to go to protect his pride.

The name of a renowned swordsman enters Matahachi's story, offering a dangerous shortcut to respect. A false identity begins to take shape around an ambition he cannot truly fulfill.

As events at Hōzōin continue to unfold, Musashi's preparation demands persistence rather than recklessness. The lessons of his defeat become the foundation for his next challenge.
